Folk singer and long time UU Ken Sizemore will present a musical service entitled "A Tribute To Peter, Paul, and Mary - extraordinary folk singers and courageous champions of progressive causes."  Ken will share with us many of P, P, and M's signature songs, including some of their message songs such as "Blowin' In the Wind," "The Times They Are A-Changin'," "If I Had A Hammer," "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "Inch By Inch--The Garden Song," and "Deportee."  Ken will also offer a sampling of their iconic folk songs about life, family, and magical places, including classics like "Lemon Tree," "Puff the Magic Dragon," "Stewball," "Don't Think Twice," "500 Miles," and "Leaving On A Jet Plane."  And, believe it or not, more, if time permits!!!

UUCO Third Sunday Coffee House - Rev. Gail Tapscott - Sunday, June 11, 2017

6/9/2017

A continuation to Rev. Gail Tapscott's talk on "The Lost Art of Hanging Out and La Vie Boheme."  Rev. Gail Tapscott, Retired UU minister and UUCO member believes we are all too busy, are not wasting enough time and have lost out on some very key life skills in recent years. Last week, she shared her thoughts on how loafing and hanging out are spiritual experiences and offered illustrations from many religious traditions. As a follow up, the June 11 service will offer some practice in hanging out as we gather for the UUCO Third Place Sunday Coffee House. There will be topics to discuss, people to meet, and some breakfast food to enjoy.  Come hang out with us!

Rev. Gail Tapscott, retired UU minister and UUCO member believes we are all too busy, are not wasting enough time and have lost out on some very key life skills in recent years. She will be sharing her thoughts on how loafing and hanging out are spiritual experiences and will offer illustrations from many religious traditions. Hanging out has often been associated with Bohemian culture so she will be paying homage to this tradition as well.
